Top 50 Blogs by Divinity Students?

I don't know how it's possible (since my blogging habits are quite irregular), but my blog, Battle Against the Bewitchment of Intelligence @ for my facebook readers, was named one of the "Top 50 Blogs by Divinity Students" by The Divining Blog (  I only have 1 follower, so maybe this will help increase my readership, even though I doubt the list is legit.  I have no clue how they found my blog considering my low readership.

  1. Shaun,

I hate to burst a perfectly good bubble, but I suspect that this is one more instance of a common scam that has been going on amidst the blogging world. For a post detailing other recent examples and an apparent explanation of it, see here: While it is complicated, it appears that they just want you to link to the site for search engine ranking purposes.

  2. I'm thinking the same thing based on the other blogs listed on their site. Especially when I saw that they recommended that people interested in getting an M.Div. go to these schools that I very highly doubt have M.Div. programs:
    1. Michigan State University
    2. San Diego State University
    3. University of Arizona
    4. California Polytechnic State University
    5. Baker University
    6. New York University
    7. Brown College
    8. Oklahoma State University
    9. East Carolina University
    10. Western Michigan University
I am, however, really wondering how they found my blog to put it on their list at all. There are tons of blogs by seminary students who get a lot more hits than mine (such as Thom Stark's).

  3. Yeah, I'm not sure how they target blogs for any given category, but somebody has a system.
